A snowy egret (Egretta thula) takes flight at a marsh near Richardson Bay, California near San Francisco.
Once rare due to its being hunted nearly to extinction for its large plumes, the snowy egret has rebounded in population with conservation efforts. They are found in the coastal southwestern United States and inland near major lakes and rivers, and along the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts from Maine to Florida and to Texas. Northern populations migrate to Central and South America. They have a wingspan of up to four feet.
Like a snowy egret taking flight, I feel the Lord is saying YOUR time for promotion is coming. Before this photo was taken, this egret was hidden among the marsh tributaries, searching for food along the stream. Suddenly, it came into view and with a few beats of its majestic plumage, water dripping from its talons, it took off and flew to the other side of the preserve.
