Artist's Description
This is a close-up of the location where Gideon chose his 300 men who would do battle with 135,000 Midianites.
In spite of overwhelmingly insurmountable odds, by faith Gideon obeyed what God instructed him to do. As a result, his small band of warriors won a great victory for the Lord and Israel (see Judges 6-7).
I took this photo during my Holy Land pilgrimage in November 2009. What a thrilling experience it was to reverently cup my hands in these historic waters from the same spring as Gideon's men did over 3,000 years ago. The Bible truly comes alive in living color!
My Messianic rabbi shared an outstanding message during a recent Shabbat service which taught how God looks beyond our present circumstances and sees us as mighty men and women of valor capable of great exploits for His Kingdom.
When we do our part to trust and obey God, the results -- like in Gideon's case -- will be life-changing and history-making.
