Description
Big bird behaving badly :: A great egret (Ardea alba) creates a comical scene shooing away a black-crowned night heron (Nycticorax nycticorax) while searching for food near San Francisco Bay on a mild late winter afternoon.
This is their territorial nature as animals. God's creation conveys a valuable lesson :: The Creator made us beautiful. Yet, like this majestic egret, at times we display behavior not so becoming toward our fellow human.
Before we get mad at someone -- and during this election season here in America, before we post about a candidate we don't like -- may we pause and see them as created in God's image, and PRAY they do better.
I ask for God's guidance while writing the descriptions to each of my photographs. For this image, I felt He was reminding me of 1 John 4:20:: "If anyone says, 'I love God,' and hates his brother, he is a liar. For the one who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen." (Tree of Life Version)
Let us take God's Word to heart, and remember the lesson of the egret and the night heron.

Embedded in the top right-hand corner is the Hebrew acronym for "B'ezras Hashem" [ב ס " ד] meaning "with God's help". It is a reminder to me as an artist and photographer of my dependence on the Almighty, the Originator of all creativity.
