Description
A request by a prospective customer has been made to show more of the trunk of this majestic tree in full bloom, so I'm grateful to God that when I visited Pasadena, California, I had taken another photo of a wider angle, which also shows more of the far reach of the incredible violet-lavender flower-laden branches.
The buildings offer a stark perspective as to the sheer size of this magnificent jacaranda tree in downtown Pasadena, California.
Two HDR applications and a painterly effect were added to my photo, to bring out the rich colors of the tree and to soften (lessen) the details of the surrounding elements.
The lighting and color of the blossoms was tweaked some to compensate for the partial blocking of the sun by the clouds when this photo was made.
I left in the light standard, to show realistically the actual scene in person. It is not often you get to see both a street lamp and signal light get nearly engulfed by such floral beauty!
If you zoom in using the full resolution viewer by hovering your mouse pointer over the image, you will notice several seed pods which add interest to the image.
The bottom of the trunk of the tree blended in with the chimney, so I highlighted the trunk a bit to delineate from the background.
This beautiful tree planted in an urban city environment reminds us majestically to bloom where we are planted, to obey and follow God’s plan for our lives and thereby be an influence for good. Even in life’s trials and challenges, when we remain faithful to God, the loving Heavenly Father will bring joy and blessing:
“To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.”
~ Isaiah 61:3, NKJV

Embedded in the top right-hand corner is the Hebrew acronym for "B'ezras Hashem" [ב ס " ד] meaning "with God's help". It is a reminder to me as an artist and photographer of my dependence on the Almighty, the Originator of all creativity. This is a similar acknowledgement used by great artists like Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel who signed their work with the Latin phrase, "Soli Deo gloria" which means, "Glory to God alone".
